Herne Church joins with the nation in mourning the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and prays for HM The Queen and the Royal family at this time of loss.

On Sunday 11th April when the 10.00 am Service of All-Age Worship is about to begin, Herne Church Bells will be half-muffled as a mark of respect.

At 3.00 pm on Sunday 11th April, Herne Church will be open for a Special Hour of Prayer for anyone in the local community who may wish to drop-in, light a candle, say a prayer, or have prayer said with them.

On Sunday 25th April at 6.00 pm, we will be hosting a Special Evensong of Thanksgiving and Remembrance: may HRH Prince Philip rest in peace.

"God of Love, we give you thanks for Prince Philip: grateful for a long life of service to Queen and country, for the love he shared with his family, and for the influence he used for causes around the world.  We pray that he may rest in peace and that your Spirit may uphold all who mourn; and that each of us may serve, love and influence for the good of all and in service of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen."
